Pronouns

A pronoun is used as a substitute for a noun or a noun phrase. It is used to avoid repetitions of nouns in the sentence.

Example:

I saw Parul, Parul was wearing a blue gown.

Instead, we say â?? I saw Parul, she was wearing a blue gown.

Pronouns are the only words in English which have different forms when used as the subject and as the object.
