  • cow ? moo (both have round “o” sounds)
  • duck ? quack (think “duck” and “quack” share the “k” sound)
  • horse ? neigh (picture a horse saying “neighhh”)

Group them

  • bleat ? goat, sheep
  • roar ? lion, tiger (big cats)
  • buzz ? bee, fly (tiny wing sound)

Common mix-ups (quick fixes)

Hen vs. Rooster

Hen clucks; Rooster crows (“cock-a-doodle-doo”).

Sheep vs. Goat

Both bleat. Saying “baa” is also fine for sheep (Grade-1 level).

Owl sound

Use hoot (“hoo-hoo”), not “owl says tweet”. “Chirp” is for small birds like sparrows.

Elephant sound

Use trumpet, not “roar”. Roar is for big cats.
