Fibres, fabrics and clothes

Natural fibres: Natural fibres are obtained from natural sources like plants and animals.
Plants give us cotton, linen and jute.
Animals give us silk and wool. Linen is a natural fibre obtained from fibres of flax plant.
Jute is used in making bags, mats, rugs, ropes and sacks.

* Paper bags and jute bags are environment-friendly as they are made from natural resources and are biodegradable.

Synthetic fibres (or man-made fibres): Synthetic fabrics are textiles made from artificial fibres made by man rather than natural fibers. Synthetic fabrics are generally derived from coal and petroleum. Examples of synthetic fabrics include polyester, acrylic, nylon, rayon etc.

* Synthetic fibres have low melting temperature and they can be damaged easily by heat thus we should avoid them from high temperatures.
