Everyone needs money for livelihood. Everyone does a job for earning the money. The job, one does, becomes his profession or occupation. There are different kinds of professions.

There are numerous of workers around us, from whom we have to take help to complete our daily routine. There are two types of helpers- Direct helpers and Indirect helpers.

1. Direct helpers- Helpers who come in direct contact with us such as security guard, doctor, lawyer, barber, carpenter, etc to provide their support while needed.

2. Indirect helpers- Helpers who don't come in direct contact with us such as soldiers standing at the borders to protect us, policemen,politicians,etc.

As we know that we cannot bring all required goods at home by ourselves such as newspaper from press, vegetables from farms, milk from cow, other food from factories or we cannot provide security to the school, or treat us when we fall ill or build a house,etc. For the reasons like these we need the different types of helpers to help us on daily basis.

Doctor: A doctor treats sick or injured patients. There are many kinds of doctors.

Tools: Stethoscope for listening to the heartbeat.

Physician: A physician treats patients by understanding medical reports, studying the patient and his history and prescribing medicines and diet.
Surgeon: A surgeon performs operations or surgery.
Orthopaedic: Orthopaedic treats our bones.
Paediatrician: A paediatrician is ca hild specialist and treats children.
Gynaecologist: A gynaecologist treats women.
Dentist: A dentist treats our teeth.
ENT specialist: ENT specialist treats our ear, nose and throat.
Cardiologist: A cardiologist takes care of our heart.
Ophthalmologist: An ophthalmologist treats our eyes.
Dietician: A dietician prescribes diet according to the disease or disorder of the patient.

Nurse: A nurse takes care of the patient and gives medicines and treatment prescribed by the doctor.

Pharmacist/Chemist: A pharmacist sells medicines and other medical equipment.

Teacher: A teacher teaches students and helps them learn new things.

Engineer: An engineer designs, create and repair machines and equipment.

Software Engineer: A software engineer creates programs which run on the computer.

Driver: A driver drives vehicles like a school bus, taxi, public bus, truck, tractor etc.

Carpenter: A carpenter makes and repair wooden items like doors, windows and furniture.

Tools: Saw for cutting wood and hammer for hitting nails.

Plumber: A plumber fits and repairs water taps and pipes etc.

Tools: Wrench for tightening and loosening pipes.

Electrician: An electrician fixes electrical equipment.

Tools: Screwdriver and tester

Blacksmith: A blacksmith makes and repairs iron items.

Tools: Hammer

Goldsmith: A goldsmith makes gold ornaments and jewellery.

Police: Police looks after law and order and catches criminals.

Traffic police: Traffic police looks after and controls traffic.

Fireman: A fireman fights with fire.

Tools: Hosepipe.

Lawyer: A lawyer studies law and fight cases in the court.

Judge: A judge interprets the law, hear the case, assess evidence and gives judgement.

Potter: A potter makes items out of soil and clay, like earthen pots.

Tools: Pottery wheel.

Postman: A postman delivers letters.

Farmer: A farmer grows crops.

Tools: Plough, tractor, spade etc

Grocer: A grocer sells household items like vegetables and other things.

Hawker: A hawker sells handicrafts, small household items and eatables on streets or public places.

Mechanic: A mechanic repairs machines like a.c., fan, car etc.

Tools: Screwdriver, hammer, wrench etc.

Banker: a banker works in a bank and takes care of our money.

Mason: A mason builds structures by using bricks and concrete.

Builder: A builder builds building with the help of architects, civil engineers, labours and masons.

Architect: An architect designs a building.

Tailor: A tailor stitches clothes.

Tools: Scissors and stitching machine.

Cobbler: A cobbler mends our shoes.

Pilot: A person who drives aeroplanes and aircraft.

Astronaut: A person who studies and goes into space.

Chef: Who cooks food and prepares dishes.

Baker: A person who works in a bakery and makes cakes, cookies, pastries, hot dogs, buns and doughnuts etc.
