Verbs — Grade 1 (Doing Words)

A verb tells what a person or thing does, what happens, how something is, or how it changes. (From Latin verbum “word”) In simple words: verbs are action or being words that show activity.

Many verbs add -ed (play ? played). Some change form (go ? went).

Common mistakes (and quick fixes)

I with “am”

Write: I am fine. (Not “I is fine”)

He/She/It with “is”

Write: She is playing. (Not “She are playing”)

Has vs. Have

Say went (not “goed”), ran (not “runned”).
