Ratio: Ratio is the comparison of two similar quantity. It doesn't have any unit.

first term is antecedent.

the second term is consequent.

Equivalent Ratio: When both antecedent and consequent is multiplied by the same number, we get an equivalent Ratio.

example;2/3=2X2/3X2=4/6

2X3/3X3=6/9

Proportion: The term which explains two ratios are equivalent is called Proportion.

Symbol; a:b::c:d

a,d are called extreme terms.

b,c are called mean terms.

Continued Proportion: When the ratio of first no to second no is equal to the ratio of second no to the third no, then the three numbers are called continued proportion.

The middle term is called the mean proportional.
